Last updated: 16 September 2026. By creating an account or using HouseKey you agree to these terms.

1. The service

HouseKey is a marketplace to list and discover rental properties (houses, apartments, flats and PG). We do not own the properties, collect rent, or act as a broker unless we say so in writing.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login safe.
You are responsible for activity on your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or harm other users.

3. Listings

Only the owner or an authorised person may list a property.
Details and photos must be true, current and lawful.
Listings stay pending until an admin approves them. We may reject or remove listings that are misleading, duplicate, illegal or against our rules.
Free and paid listing packages, quotas and chat limits are described in the app. Fees, if any, are non-refundable except where Indian consumer law requires otherwise.

4. Conduct

You must not spam, harass, scrape the service, post offensive or illegal content, impersonate others, or try to bypass security or payment limits.

5. Chats and contact

Messages are between users. Owner phone numbers may be hidden until contact access or a package allows it. Do not share passwords or make payments outside a trusted method.

6. Intellectual property

HouseKey branding, the app and website belong to us. You keep rights to photos you upload and grant us a licence to display them for operating the service.

7. Disclaimer

Listings are provided by users. We do not guarantee availability, rent, condition or the identity of owners. Visit properties and verify documents yourself. The app is provided “as is”.

8. Liability

To the extent allowed by law, HouseKey is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for disputes between renters and owners. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is higher.

9. Privacy

Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the app. If you do not agree, stop using HouseKey. You may delete your account by contacting support.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India will have jurisdiction, without limiting any rights you have as a consumer.
