Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026. This policy applies to the HouseKey mobile app and website at https://www.myhousekeys.in.

1. Who we are

HouseKey (“we”, “us”) is a rental listing platform. Users can browse approved properties, create listings, chat with owners, and manage a profile. Contact: housekeyy3@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed), profile photo, and Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
  • Listings: property details, address, city, rent, photos, amenities and availability that you submit.
  • Location: city or GPS coordinates you choose so we can show nearby rentals. You can refuse location permission and still use the app.
  • Messages: in-app chat between seekers and listing owners.
  • Device: push notification token (FCM) so we can send listing status alerts.
  • Usage: search filters, saved (favourite) listings, and package / quota status.

3. How we use information

  • To create and secure your account, and show your profile.
  • To publish listings after admin review, and to let others discover them.
  • To enable chat, notifications, favourites and listing packages.
  • To prevent fraud, spam and unauthorised access.
  • To respond to support requests from this website or the app.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Sharing

We share data only as needed to run the service:

  • Other users: public listing details you publish. Owner phone / WhatsApp is shown only when contact access rules allow it.
  • Service providers: hosting, database, file storage, and Firebase (Google) for authentication and push notifications.
  • Legal: if required by law or to protect users and the platform.

5. Photos and location

Property photos you upload are stored on our servers and shown on approved listings. Location is used only to sort or filter nearby homes. Camera, gallery and location permissions are optional and can be turned off in Android settings.

6. Retention

We keep account and listing data while your account is active. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by emailing support. We may keep limited records if required for legal, security or dispute reasons.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and keep your device updated.

8. Children

HouseKey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your choices

  • Update profile details in the app.
  • Turn off notifications or location in device settings.
  • Request access, correction or deletion by contacting us.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
